Animal holidays

While the French children had school vacation, my animals had holidays as well. The August was dry and sunny. I had to work a lot outside and the dogs were playing cards with the sheep under the high trees in the park. Okay, maybe they weren’t playing cards, but the sheep were quite lazy. The warmer it is, the less they need to eat. The dogs chased rabbits and mostly the rabbits won. But not always. The dogs were barking at the inevitable farmers, who worked day and night to make sure, we won’t get bored and won’t sleep too much.

Miniputz and Schlafmütz get along quite well lately. They lick each others heads as a greeting. But sometimes Miniputz still wants to play and Schlafmütz prefers to lies on her human (me), stretching and purring.

Today Rudi and Bach had excavation fun at the side of the fields. If they would continue their “work” on the whole field, the farmer wouldn’t have to plough anymore.

We had some flea problems again. Fipronil didn’t kill anything, Spot-On for around 60€ was complete waste. I bought spray with Permethrin or something like that and we all took a “shower”. Some resistent fleas lived on Phex’ tail. Impossible to kill them. The tail is like a jungle. After the spray it was better for two weeks. Now we used Advantix and hope the best.

Rudi is happy when the vet treated his little problem. He told me that he wants to dress as vet for halloween. Vets are the most scary beings on earth. Rudi still has a quite embarrassing digestion problem. But he usually forgets all his problems, because the world is funny and exciting (with the exception of vets).

Phex is happy when we’re outside and when I brush him “right”. He’s the only one that knows how “right” is defined.

Today I watched Kleines and Berta rub on a tree. Wool is always itchy and sheep have no hands. That tree is a multifunctional beauty parlour. Miniputz used it at the same time to sharpen her claws.

  1. This is great. You live in such a beautiful place, and it seems like you are surrounded by such entertaining and happy animals. I have to admit that I might be a bit jealous!

    • Hehe, the place is indeed beautiful, it is the reason why I stay here. Some of the animals where given to me by the bosses and one by a stranger. I can’t really afford so many animals, but we do our best. And I really love them, it’s so difficult for me to leave anyone of them.

  2. Everything is so gorgeous there and all your 4 legged babies look happy. Such a peaceful life you have Miss C.

  3. I love that pic of Bach! Adorable🙂

    • He says he likes your photos too and would love to get a date. *sniff sniff sniff*

  4. Oh! Poppy is starting to look like Rudi (who is beautiful!!!). Phex is a handsome collie and I love Bach’s smile. The cat dashing up the branch the sheep was scratching on made me laugh out loud. The skies are spectacular, and yes the light is beautiful. I want to live there🙂 Ha! But like you, without the fleas😀
