Octobersnow

It’s the end of October and we had snow. Shocking. The snow was very heavy and some branches broke, but even worse, one of the two cables on the overhead power line on the pasturage couldn’t bear it and broke at ten in the morning. The two ends were lying on the ground, perfect to grill some sheep, dogs, cats or people.

I explained the situation to Brad and with his help and the help of sheepfood I led the sheep in the nearly snowless park, where they ate chestnuts and hid under trees.

Miniputz loved the snow. Such a wonderful cats toilet. Fresh at the butt and it’s easy to cover the dirt with this white, clean stuff.

I went to chop wood, cleaned the house, read a book about the French-Prussian war and at 3pm the electricians showed up. Two technicians and each of them had his own van, neatly stuffed with tools. Took them around an hour to repair the cable. I brought them coffee and beer. One of them was here for the first time. It’s always the same. They repair the cable, it snaps again. He said: “We are the best!” I agreed to that.

  1. Wow Normandy got snow– I figured we would have it before you. The tower looks so mystical with snow on the roof. To bad you know who is letting it errode away.

    • The “erroder” had snow too, in the Provence. The mistral is blowing coldness around her. The temperature there is 2°C lower than here today. But tomorrow it’ll be warm there. *sigh*

  2. I hope it comes our way! We had a flutter saturday morning but since then its just been raining:-(

    • If snow comes along again, I’ll tell it to visit you. You can send us the rain in exchange. We don’t like rain much, but rain at least doesn’t hide the grass.

  3. Yes! Snow in October in Normandy or anywhere else should be illegal or ostracized or something like. At least your animals enjoyed. My cats can’t bear it!!! We are getting a late season hurricane today and tomorrow. All the rain we needed all summer in one or two days. Crazy weather🙂
