Brumous Normandy

Some days ago I talked with someone from Andalusia about Normandy and his first comment was, that it’s foggy here. And it’s true, it can be very brumous here, dense fog, clouds that seem to hang 2 metres over the ground. But it’s beautiful nevertheless and gives the landscape a touch of mystery.

This photo got me scared, not because I thought my flash revealed ghosts, but because I feared the humidity could enter in my camera. Own photo, licence: CC by-SA/ Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported

The fog enhances the sounds and it’s kind of creepy to hear voices of people who stand and talk some hundred metres away. Even creepier is the sound of the bell on the door of my neighbour. She has a real bell and unlike ours it’s not rusted away.
